No scrollsaw for a while
« on: February 21, 2012, 06:53:46 am »
I'm so disappointed!

I have a left shouler tendinitis. I had cortisone injection to make disappear the pain. But I can't saw for a while. The saw is not what cause that, but for few weeks, I can't do anything that could injured more the shouler... So, no saw, no guitar playing, ...

My weekends will be so boring...

There are some test I need to pass. I had surgery for the right shoulder because of that problem. It's possible I need a surgery for the left. But it's 4 month of rehab... I don't want to pass trough all this  another time...

Just do as the doctors say--They seem to know what they are doing--I had my knee replaced and giving everyone at the hospital a hard time--my wife said I was acting like my father, so I started to behave--I know it's ruff but it will get better---Richard aka thumbs

It will be hard, no scrollsaw and no guitar for a while, but it will be well worth it in the long run if you end up cured.

Yep, rough weekends - for a while, but better to listen to the docs and avoid rough weekends for months.

Get Well.

Math, whatever you do, don't get too anxious and start doing things you know you shouldn't.  I had shoulder surgery and was told it would take three months for recovery. After awhile I decided to do some things the doc told me not to do, and ended up having to have the surgery a second time.  All I did was to double the recovery time and incur a lot more pain.

Matt, I can sympathize with you as I am going through the same thing. I have an arthritic disease called "DISH" no cure, just shots to loosen up the joints and bring down the pain level. It has now effected my right hand as I cannot straighten the fingers unless I take my left hand and slowly get the right hand open. I also am limited to shop time, I am waiting on an appointment for my doctor. Hang in there my friend.

Thanks everybody for your words.

I'll listen to the doctor for sure! I'll probably know in two weeks if I need a surgery...

Hope not!

I keep wishing I had found 'scrolling' when all the body parts were much younger and still working!

Just do as you are advised and then do what you can and be thankful you are on the right side of the turf!

Oh dear, with all the useless joints on the site, perhaps we had better turn our saws towards making prosthetic limbs instead, anyone got a pattern for a new ankle.

I feel the pain. At least I did felt it about two years ago. Took me six weeks of PT and four months of daily exercises at home to get to feeling comfortable. I thought it would never heal.

Hope you have a speedy recovery.
