a smaller version of our sign
« on: May 23, 2010, 12:28:56 am »
I was to be cutting a 27 inch tall and 40 inch wide sign on my saw this weekend.  Well it did not work out considering my work space is in a corner and everything was in the way.  My saw is bolted to the table, so there was no moving that.  This is made from Dark Walnut with a Baltic Birch backer.
I just wish I could have done the other.   :-[ :-[ :-[

That's really nice, Cherie!  I couldn't see as much detail in your other picture. Did you use a spiral blade with that?

I don't see anything wrong with this project  Cherie > good job . I have found out that the more tools you have the less space you have , I have learned just to make due > but sometimes it's very trying also ..........Marshall ;)

Thank you for the compliments all.  Shelia, I do not like spirals, but am thinking of purchasing some of the new ones from Mikes Workshop.  They are suppose to work better.  I  might use them on the original sign I am suppose to be cutting.  LOL.
Sometimes small spaces is not the way to go I guess.  LOL

I know what you mean, Cherie!  I live in a one-bedroom apartment and the side of my kitchen is my 'shop'.  LOL I have a small cupboard that I keep the saw and drill press on and I do all the sanding and routing on the front deck, which is about 4 x 5'.  I guess we make due with what we have, don't we?  I really don't like doing large things anyway - they aren't fun for me and too stressful.  Although, one day I would love to get a house and have a real shop soon, and I am hoping that will be the case before long.  But for now, my little corner does OK. I look at it this way - there is less to clean :).
