First impressions Deco-flex
« on: February 06, 2012, 06:00:02 am »
:D UPS just delivered my new scroll saw this morning. So I have been fiddling around with it a bit. Sturdy. Runs with very little vibration even at top speed. The clamps are the only little gripe I have, but have already seen that I can replace them with the clamps from my Proxon, so that problem too is solved. And this one is still made in Germany, so I have faith in this machine, German tools have never let me down, so trust that this one will follow that reputation.
Am posting a pic.
Extremely blessed and happy with my new toy.

Why is there no sawdust on the new toy yet, that should be your first priority to make sawdust lol.  Enjoy your new toy.

Keefie, there is sawdust on it now.  ;D. Must confess that the clamps are not as bad as I thought at first, the clamp spirals perfectly. It's just a bother to get the bottom clamp in position, very little manoeuvring space.

Congratulations, I hope you like yours  as much as I liked my 40-690 Delta.  But, I wonder, why no saw dust?

Torsten,
The mounted clamps are for pinned blades.  The clamps for flat and spiral are actually well thought out , it does not have the actual slit but has a round opening to insert the blade into and it gets clamped by two little screws. Thinking of mounting these more permanent as I rarely use pinned blades. They work fantastic on spirals.

Hi Dawie, hope you get years of pleasure from your new toy. Glad you got rid of the piece of "double glazing" around the blade. A couple of hours and you wouldn't be able to see for dust stuck to it with the static. Good luck.
Rob Roy.
