Question on a RBI Scroll Saw

I am looking for information to fix my hawk. When I square one side of my blade to the table then move the square to the other side of the blade, the blade is away from the top of the square by about 1/32". Any advice? Thanks in advance.

I am not trying to be funny but I would be looking at the square. But the best way of squaring the blade is to get apiece of 1 1/2 inch thick wood (3x11/2) and put a light cut on it and see if it is square

Assuming the table isn't bent or cracked, I think you should invest in a new square as suggested by Patch.


Pay no attentinon to the bubble, "flat" and "level" are not the same!

Invest in a small, 'accurate' machinists square!

All too many times I have found general 'store bought' squares to be 'just a tad off'!

I will check out the square, but it is a machinist's square.  That is why I did not question it.

I like to use a plastic protractor held behind the blade.

The plastic squares sold in "student" drawing kits are in expensive and in my case accurate.

If you doubt the square, do as Patch suggested and cut into a piece of fairly thick wood, then turn the wood around and bring it up behind the blade.  If the cut is square to the blade then you are at 90 degrees, if not, adjust slowly taking only 1/2 the amount of error at a time.

I use a clear plastic protractor, works perfectly and very cheap!
