barn owl sneek peak..

Been working on this Guy the last couple days. Thought I would give you folks a early look. Its from my own pattern..

Sure.. it is mostly poplar. The feather sections are walnut. Starting dimensions are 3/4. The dimensions now are getting closer to 1/2.  All the shaping is done with a dremel with a flex shaft. I don't do enough intarsia to justify a expensive Carver. I am really low on wood stocks at the moment so I have to make do.
