New Use for Charles Dearing Pattern!
« on: January 17, 2012, 01:38:15 pm »
When I traveled to Florida to escape the northern snow and cold, I realized I couldn't bring my scroll saw with me!  I decided to try and cut some scroll patterns out of paper using an exacto knife and a #11 blade.

Attached are two photos, one of Charles' cat pattern and another of a hunting dog retrieving a pheasant (not sure where I got this pattern!)  Each pattern was printed on good quality 8.5 X 11 inch paper, cut out with the exacto knife and the finished cutting placed on a backing coloured paper.

This was fun, and not too difficult (as long as you use a sharp blade - sort of like scroll sawing!)

Those are wonderful!

The kitten is my late "Splinter" who had to be put down at 3 months due to a fatal infection and we do miss her!

All I can think to say is....Wow!  Looking at both patterns and thinking you used a exacto knife to cut all that lil detail.  Wow!  Looks so Professional.

Well done!  Never would have guessed they were cut into paper.

It probably took less time to cut and to scroll.  Absolutely awesome.
