Computer crash
« on: January 04, 2012, 02:33:29 am »
Well after downloading  the IE 8 update my regular PC crashed, missing a Dll file, I've pulled what little hair I have left, and finally gave up trying to fix it for tonight. I'm using the new laptop, boy is that screen small. LOL
So I won't be answering any regular e mail because I haven't gotten that far in the setup without my address book. I do like the wireless keyboard I got so I wouldn't have to use the clunky keyboard on the lap top along with the wireless mouse. The touch pad mouse is a pain!
Enough of my woes for now. More later when I get things back to normal.
Welcome to 2012 Gabby!

Marcel I've tried just about everything. It keeps telling me I have to load the lost Dll file but I don't know where to find it, I've loaded just about every disc that should have the files it is looking for.

Gabby,

Send it to me and I'll get it fixed for you.  Don't need anything but the main case.  No mouse, keyboard or any of that.  I'll install logmein at the same time if you like.  btw: I recommend you stop using Internet Exploder and switch to Firefox or Google Chrome.  You have my address.  I was beginning to wonder where you had been!

Hi Gabby, sorry to hear your pooter is unwell. Have you tried hitting it with a house brick?. Yep, didn't work for me either but I felt a hell of a lot better.

Gabby, your emails aren't routed to a computer, they are routed to an email server.  Depending on whether you are using a program to handle your email (outlook express, outlook, etc.) or using webmail like googlemail you can access your emails from any computer.  They don't come off the server until your download them (not even then if you set it that way).  You are with frontier.net, so you should be able to look at their info on your laptop and configure the emails to be read on the laptop.  I know the laptop is windows 7, but I think you can still get windows live mail to download from the frontiernet server.  I use 7 on a couple of my computers but I still use Outlook to handle email.
