Thank You, ladies and gentlemen for all the nice comments.
Al...I would give a lot to do Intarsia one-tenth as well as you!
Flipping...I drill 30 holes at a time and use that as a guide to give me frequent breaks. Each time I drill holes I flip the piece face down and lightly sand the back to get rid of any 'breakout' and to look at how I am progressing. It also helps me decide where the next group of cuts should be made.
The wood is 1/8" Red Oak plywood I got on special from WoodCraft. (Thanks for the tip, Dan)
I only made a stack of two...one for my daughter/son-in-law for
Christmas and if the bottom one turned out usable I will keep it for my collection. (it came out just fine)
I really like doing the animals and birds and especially Western/Native American portraits. I have some coming up after the holidays I think you will like.
In another thread I noted that I am not doing this as a new career but because I like this great hobby I found just a few years ago. This keeps my mind, hands and body active and I truly believe that if you don't Use It, you will lose it!
The encouragement I have received from my friends on this forum has caused me to stretch the limits I thought I had and I am learning and doing more than I had ever imagined I could when I bought that first saw.
Again...Thanks for the nice comments and for giving me a great hobby.
