There was  thread on cleaning a monitor, But what is recommended for cleaning a laptop?

Take a bath with it make sure it not plug in.

Turn off the computer.
Unplug the computer.
Take a nice soft microfibre cloth and wipe the screen carefully.
If spots remain on the screen spray a little water on the cloth and wipe the screen carefully.

For KeyBoard, use the same cloth and you can add a little window cleaner to the spray to remove the food and beer stains from the keys....
