I gave the Ex 21 a really good work out. Finally got it running smoother and figured out the blade change. But I am taking it back. After due consideration it just isn't $800 better than my DeWalt 788.
Sorry to be the wet blanket on an otherwize great product. If I was just starting out or just had a piece of crap saw, it would be great.

Oh, I misunderstood what you meant. When you said "Not $800 better" I took that to mean it was a price difference of $800.

It's ok Judy. The one time I tried an EX was the first demonstration at the Woodcraft store. I went in the day before so I could try it out. I gave it a good workout but decided to go with a DeWalt as that is what I was used to. I just couldn't get the hang of it. That's not to say I wouldn't try one again!

Thanks DG, I have been feeling a little quilty about the whole mess. I just think I am like an old cow that prefers the stall she is used to
But I gave it a shot.

I can't take mine back it was a gift from my husband so I intend to use both the DeWalt and the EX21. If its a paid job I use the DeWalt and if it's for me I'll be on the EX21. But I can understand where you are coming from Judy.

Hey Jude the Ex is a good saw, but I have not tried a Dewalt so I cant compare, in fact down under the second best is probably a ryobi or some such thing, and after using a heap of crap like that any thing is good

Hey, my Hegner is also fine
Every scroller should use what feels best to him/her.
It's not about the saw or the brand of blades you use, it's about what you make with it.

Hi Judy ,what did you do to get it running smoother ? i have tried to move the motor but it only seems to get worse! i run mine about half speed and it runs fine but if turn it up it really starts to vibrate and after the problems i had when i first got it i dont want to mess around with it to much. Thanks everyone for the support. I wouldn't feel right calling Ray at Seyco since I didn't buy it there.
Peter. I just had to have my son tighten all the bolts on the stand and it was better but I think the vibration would loosen them again so it would be an on going job.
