Also - no one will ask for the saw you made something on.
They always ask for the wood, the pattern etc. but not for the saw.

Judy if you have a problem with bolts loosening from vibration, have your son use Locktite or get some self locking nuts they are usually available at the hardware store, problem solved.

Is that like saying the grass is always greener on the other side?

That is part of it, Dan.

But after you climb the fence and the barbed wire rips the seat out of your overalls you find that the grass is even greener where you came from and you risk scratching your backside to get back where you were in the first place!

I guess I am saying "If it is working for you, don't try to fix it!" Be satisfied with what you have.

Would I be a better 'scroller' with an EX-21?
Maybe!
But it ain't worth $800 to find out until my DeWalt shoots craps and I have to make a decision on a replacement. At my age the DW will most likely outlive my productive years anyway.

I returned the Ex-21 yesterday without a problem.  Ordered some parts for the 788 and will make it work for a while longer.  Did they really quit making the DeWalt 788??  I saw the gray version (Delta) in the store I returned the EX to.

If you ponder too much on just where GB's "bibs" may have ripped, it may cause you to reach for something a little stronger than coffee .....  ;D ;D

after many years of use, my old 788 failed. I didn't want to be without a saw so I bought a new 788 a little over a year ago. I could of got an EX at my 15% discount at Woodcraft, but I chose to go with what worked for me. I'm not saying that there was anything wrong with the EX, I just decided to stick with what worked for me.
Both saws pretty much work the same. After all, both saws originally were designed and built by the same company, Summerville Designs in Canada. DeWalt then sent the manufacturing to Taiwan, And summerville sold out to General International, also being buit in Taiwan.

So what do you know about the Delta that is supposed to be exactly like the DeWalt 788?

The color is different.

Same saw, built by the same company, with a different name.

Roger is right. Delta was owned by Black & Decker which owns DeWalt. The DeWalt brand is their contractor grade line, and Delta is marketed to the woodworking trades. So Black & Decker decided to market the saw to the woodworking trades. So the saw is identical to the 788 except the color and emblems. Now, Delta has been sold to another company. At this point, I don't know who will be selling the saw, but I'm sure someone will!
