scrollsaw maintenance

 i seem to recall reading on here that alot of scrollers wax the table of there saw.what kind of wax do you use? (example) hard compound wax liquid wax like car wax etc.!!

I use Johnson's paste wax.

You can use any type of wax as long as it does not contain silicone. Most car waxes contain silicone. Silicone will interfere with some finishes and stains if it transfers to the wood. Most people use Johnson's paste wax. I use Minwax finishing wax because that is what I have on hand. There are folks who use silicone to lube their table, but they are just playing with fire!

Another wax I have heard about for providing protection to metal surfaces is "Mother's California Gold Car Wax".
Contains no silicone just carnauba.

Judy, The EX21 has a coating on the table so it shouldn't need waxing.

We use HARD wax
I use some bee wax that comes in a small box like the good old fashioned shoe polish.
I bring it on after work is done and polish it next evening. I do so about once a month.

I use Mothers pure carnuba paste wax. Purest wax I could find. Also, having owned a Collision repair facility for over 30 years, I find this is the best wax around.

I use pure bees wax. I have a lot on hand because I use it on my woodturning so I always have it on hand...
