Hey GB, can you hear me now?
Hope all is going well. Sorry if it sounds like I'm screaming.

YES! I can hear you now!

Not ashamed to say I cried like the proverbial baby when they first turned it on....
It sounded like a 30's radio set between stations and was all static but I heard a voice in there in the background.
It has been about 2 hours and the strange noises are getting weaker and voices still sound 'tinny' but they tell me this will gradually go away as the ol' brain learns what to do with all these new 'impulses'.
Had to wind and set my antique mantel clock and the first time it chimed I almost jumped out of the chair!
As we were pulling out of the garage I thought I heard my heart beating rather fast...WRONG...it was the directional signal.
For my 'geeky' friends there are 20 individual electrodes implanted in my auditory nerve endings so it will take 6 weeks of 1 1/2 hour sessions to get everything 'programmed' just right.

But for now I ma just happy to sit here and listen to my keyboard go 'clickety, clickety'!

Thanks once again for all your prayers and good wishes.....

I'm planning to do some cutting later today and will let you know how it sounds.
The one that scares me is the table saw! Loudest too I own except for the leaf blower. OMG I will have to turn it of when I use that thing!

Hi Gray Beard, glad everything went well for you. You'll be able to hear the sound of leather on wood now.

Great new and I am glad to hear it!  If your table saw is your loudest tool then I have to assume you don't have a surface planer.  Mine makes my tablesaw whisper.

Great news Ed! Thanking God that it went so well. I will have to whisper this end of the ocean now or you might just hear everything I say  :P.
Hope all the excess noise gets filtered out soon, sure your brain can handle it.
