Never too old to learn
« on: September 05, 2011, 04:48:20 pm »
Well, looks like I?ll have to start looking for a new forum to join; I spent Saturday having my son-in-law teach me the fundamentals of cutting and welding with a torch.

We made the following:

1.   Supposed to be my workshop, if you use enough imagination.

2.   My neighbor?s garage. He has a workbench along the wall where he sits watching TV many more hours than he spends woodworking.  He?s currently making a Rocking Horse for his Grandson, You can see it on the base???   I gave the piece to him this morning and he went nuts over it.

3.  My wife?s sewing room.  Not easy to make a sewing machine, lol.

My minds going a mile a minute thinking of all the things that could be made.  Lucky I have drawers full of nuts and bolts.

Now if I could learn how to type with more than two fingers.

ps.  I haven?t forgot about Mr. Fixit #4; I?m about ready to start sanding the Electrician.

Don't leave us Al! Although you did an excellent job with the metal work, You need to stay with Intarsia and wood working. It's ok if you do the metal work, but don't give up on the woodworking!

Next you'll be getting a MIG welder, and a plasma cutter, OH and you'll have to build another shop so you'll have room for the forge and all the tools that go with that, someplace to store the coke handy so you don't have to haul it very far to feed the fire.
All it takes is money Al so spend your kids inheritance. LMBO
Have fun with your new hobby!
