Tough Pattern Request
« on: September 03, 2011, 10:06:31 pm »
For any of our great Pattern Makers and I know there is alot of Great one's on this forum, I got to thinking of a great Pattern today while I was in the shop cleaning up with the radio going and One of my all time favorite songs came on and I thought it would make an awesome Pattern but it would be a tough one SO if anyone is up to the task it's "Ghost riders in the sky" here is the You tube link to gather Inspiration from.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKXqmD7gwYM&feature=related

If you want the Task I wish you luck but as I said I think this will make a great Pattern no need to call it riders in the sky If you don't want....

Just learned Burl Ives was the first to record it. But grew up thinking it was a Sons of the Pioneers song. Boy I got side tracked, listening to all of the great old songs.
I agree Charley is the one to do it, it will take a real artist to do it justice.
Just don't expect something over night.

Go for it Charley!

Yep tell me about it Gabby I always go to YouTube and do searches for old music like that I grew up listening to that kind of Music well till I hit my teen years then it became all about the rock and roll and heavy metal but I am a child of the 80's......

I know it will take some time for sure I wasn't expecting anything right away I just figured this would be a Tough request and let the Pattern Makers get out all the tools and see what they could do with it because I have an Idea of what I think it should look like but that is in my own mind really want to see what they create and I also Agree this is right up Charlies Alley so I can't wait to see what he does with it.

Hi Chachi, I like to have a go at all patterns if I can, this is the way i see it instead of cowboys chaseing the herd on horses
I gave it a more modern twist and used a bike, can.t wait to see what others come up with........Paul

An old cowboy went riding out one dark and windy day
Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way
When all at once a mighty herd of red eyed cows he saw
A-plowing through the ragged sky and up the cloudy draw

Their brands were still on fire and their hooves were made of steel
Their horns were black and shiny and their hot breath he could feel
A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky
For he saw the Riders coming hard and he heard their mournful cry

Yippie yi Ohhhhh
Yippie yi yaaaaay
Ghost Riders in the sky

Their faces gaunt, their eyes were blurred, their shirts all soaked with sweat
He's riding hard to catch that herd, but he ain't caught 'em yet
'Cause they've got to ride forever on that range up in the sky
On horses snorting fire
As they ride on hear their cry

As the riders loped on by him he heard one call his name
If you want to save your soul from Hell a-riding on our range
Then cowboy change your ways today or with us you will ride
Trying to catch the Devil's herd, across these endless skies

Yippie yi Ohhhhh
Yippie yi Yaaaaay

Ghost Riders in the sky
Ghost Riders in the sky
Ghost Riders in the sky
