Another free download that I like is "Paint.NET" It is a simple photo editing and drawing program. Comes in very handy and I use it almost every day. It actually has more capability than I do, but it's pretty user friendly. I've muddled through it by trial and error and been able to do what I want most of the time. It can convert a photo or a pattern with lots of black area to a line drawing there by saving a ton of expensive ink. Just do a seardh for it by name as listed above with or without the quotes.
Above all have fun making sawdust, take your time figureing it all out, helps your problem solving skills.
