A KINGS PROFIFE
« on: August 25, 2011, 02:56:39 pm »
It?s been a while sense I?ve posted anything. Let?s see if I can still do it. At the end of last year I got a pattern from Mick here in Lexington that Steve spoke about in his post about the craft show last weekend. I wanted to get it done for my wife for Christmas but didn?t make it. I had trouble with the spiral blades so I put aside for a while. Mick encouraged me to push on an step up my game. So I ordered some good blades from Mike and the results are below. I stacked cut four at a time and it was so much easier to control the cut. My wife has two hanging on the wall facing each other and I sold the other two. One I bartered with our dentist for some work my wife had done $250 worth the other one to a friend for $125. What a jump in my game!
Check out Mick?s sight. He has some great patterns. I?m looking forward to doing another one just can?t make up my mind witch one.

Keninlex, The lion came out great. I just started using the spiral blades but I was cutting thin stock. So it is a big difference if I cut thicker stock? How did you attach each piece together.Glue or tape?  Dave

Dave I use a pin nail gun to hold the stack together and tape over the pattern.

Very nice, well done and congrats on the sales too.

In the latest Scrollsaw Woodworking & Craft there is a tip in there about using toothpicks to hold the stacks together.
