Spiral Blades

I'm finally going to try to use the spiral blades I bought last year.Any tips or hints would be great. Dave

As with all blades...TIGHT!!!

Remember you are going to be cutting in all directions so you want as little 'deflection' of the blade as possible.

this is DEFINITELY the time to "let the blade do the work and just GUIDE the wood"!

Word of warning...they doo wear out so be ready to change blades as needed...

get the FD spiral blades they last longer...

What type of scroll saw do you have..

IF you are damn careful and very steady....
otherwise do all your 'squiggly' cuts and then switch to a flat blade

Hey Reaper, I don't use spirals to often, but when I do it is usually in conjunction with flat blades. so I recommend that you you use both as needed.

See thats why I like this board and the members. To tell you the truth I never even thought about using both blades. I was so focused on the spiral I forgot about the straight blade. Thanks guys... Dave
