Neat idea.
I'll bet those old records can be found CHEAP at almost any thrift store that gets donations, to resell for pennies on the dollar. I just brought some home from the senior center that they wanted to get rid of. Often they will have books and magazines and even CD's and VCR cassets we can pick through before they go to the senior thrift shop to be sold.
I didn't want to keep them and took them back.
So NOW you tell me Gray Beard! Argh!!

You can also take any record and fake the center label into an interesting one. SO you do not need to cut your favorite ones to get a special art piece.

Hey GB I was on another site last night digging up new patterns and came across a CD that had been cut looked pretty cool as well but they said they had put it between some papper and stack cut them this way they would not weld togther which got me to thinking you may need to put it between two this pieces of scrap and stack cut them...

Any large city or metropolitan area will have all kinds of places to search for 'vinyl'...Thrift stores, rummage sales, garage sales, etc. In my area we have three stores that specialize in 'vintage vinyl' although those places have only the ones that may be popular and could be pricey. I have even found brand new, unopened albums in those places. Also remember the 'book' sales at libraries...they often have old vinyl they are getting rid of in favor of CD's.

I think Charlie has been struck with this idea! He's asking for old albums on Facebook...Right Charlie?!?!?! I can almost guess what he is thinking...

I never really wanted to grow up....All I wanted was to be able to reach the cookie jar...and play with my DW 788

Wow what a brilliant idea.  I look around the markets to find some old vinyl because I'm not using my own.  ;)

Yep, this topic is why I was asking.  I live in a tiny hick town so no records around here.

No used junk store in town?
My town only has 2 gas stations, but they have 2 "thrift stores".
How far to the next town Charlie?

Oh, and Gabby, the nearest (sizable) town is an hour away.

OH my that's a really small town if the Dempsters have street addresses!
Sorry Charlie I just couldn't resist. (Dempster Dumpsters get it?)
Here I thought I was out in Podunk City, it's only 45 minutes to the next sizeable town, it's the county seat and the only other incorporated city in the county.
We're all a bunch of backwoods yokels here.
