Scroll Saw Stand (ripchief design)

Just finished this Scroll Saw stand that was designed by "ripchief".  It is solid as a rock.  No "wobble" at all with the 3 leg design.  Perfect tilt to the table...can't say enough good things about it.  If you need a table for your saw...I suggest you build this one.  You won't find a better design out there.  

Thanks "ripchief" for the design...I can't wait to get my DeWalt mounted and start making saw dust.

It looks awesome!  Did u put any padding under the rug part?  Also, how do u keep your lawn so weed free?

The carpet I found had a little padding under it.  The lawn...really hasn't been warm enough in NW Minnesota yet for the weeds to "pop" yet...when they do...my kids pick them and put them in a vase in the house...they think they are "pretty".

Look's great. The one I built I did not use any carpet. I did use the bushing's that came with the Hitachi scroll saw stand that I was using. I don't have hardly and vibration but might have been better with it. I can always go back and put it on.

David...Be careful not to get too much padding between the saw and the stand...Although some is needed, the purpose of mounting the saw in the first place is to make it more solid...When I designed this stand, I initially had the saw mounted on rubber bumpers between the saw and the stand...The thought was that it would isolate the vibrations caused by the saw from the stand, so the stand wouldn't try to "dance" around...BIG MISTAKE...After mounting it that way, I turned the saw on, placed a scrap work piece on the table, and watched it and my hands become a blur...It made my fingers kind of tingle...It was almost as if I had my own little earthquake factory...I then remounted that saw as you see in the picture of the plans, and as sp-343 stated, it's as solid as a rock.

i just went and bought materials to build 2 of these stands but could only get cedar or presure treated 4x4.  cedar was expensive and presure treated ones they had i wouldnt use on a fence never mind in my shop (they were so knoty and sapy they looked disesed) so i am going to use double 2x4 with 1/2 inch spacers to make up difference should work

just finished my stand i used plywood for the top but i suported it underneth with 2x4 to help stop vibrations and added a lamp mount
