They are called
Gammeltallarna in swedish.
don't know why the twist. there are a lot of twisted tree's there. it's in Fulufjallet, a national park in Sweden.
they don't have their outer bark anymore and as Gabby said, they are twisted inside to.
there was one, (forgot picture) that was broken due storm and you could see the twist in the break line.
I think they are a couple of hounded years old.
it's in the same area as
oldest living tree of the world.
unfortunately I couldn't visit the oldest tree.......
It crossed my mind to take one home
