Missing
« on: July 14, 2011, 09:44:36 pm »
Sorry I have not been on for awhile but I suffered a stroke on July 6th, I was discharged from the Hospital today. The stroke left me with serious weakness on my entire left side. I will be receiving Home care therapy and blood draw starting tomorrow. I was put on Cumadin for the rest of my life. I was also told to stay out of the workshop until I am cleared by the doc to resume working in the shop. I guess I will catch up on my reading. I will try to log on whenever I feel able to do so.

Hey Mike, So sorry to hear about the stroke. Do what the doctors tell you and you will be back before you know it.
And Happy belated Birthday!

Mike take your time and heal, now's a good time to look for new patterns for later, gives you something to look for and forward to. I also get my monthly draw, only lately it's been 2 weeks apart s they feel it needs adjustment (the warfarin same stuff). Do what I do and flirt with all the girls in the office, gives you something else to look forward to. Might just as well make a +  out of a -.

You are still alive and kickin and that's what counts!  :)
Mike, my dad had a stroke when he was 57. He was on coumadin for the rest of his life. Died at 83 from other complications. He was a carpenter and he went back to it but as he got older he slowed down to smaller stuff. He and my Mom followed doctors orders to the T!! If things weren't right because someone else messed up they let the doctors or anybody else know.
You can do this!! Like everyone says...follow orders! Make it routine!
Best wishes and prayers, friend!

PS yep he flirted with the nurses (to my Mom's chagrin) always blamed them for his blood pressure being up!  :D
