I bought a cheap toaster oven at wally world--great for a school that cooks everything at 425--so being Male I knew how to use this thing--burnt the heck out of the polymer clay key chains I was doing--before telling me to get one with a thermostat --how does anyone else compensate for the high temp--any help would be great--Richard aka thumbs >:( >:( >:(

Take it back and tell them it burns your cookies, and get one with a thermostat!

Gabby's recommendation is best. The only other thing to do is unplug it every minute or so. That way it won't reach its top temperature.
I would take it back though.
