That's pretty cool looking crash.  I like dragonflies too.  It looks like a tattoo.

I was a little kid in school, don't know what type of saw was used.

It's plywood.  Somehow my mother kept it, as mothers do and it now hangs in my shop.

I then went on to become self-taught.  Teaching girls woodworking at Girls Incorporated (girls club) and
still fooling around at 57 years old.  Hope to still be doing this as long as some of the more senior members still are.

I'm like some of you other "Newbies" and don't have anything I'd be comfortable showing.  I've only made one item so far, and that is just my dog's name, "Molly".  Other than that I've just made lots of sawdust getting to know my saw and how to use it.  Never did scrolling before, but believe I'm going to enjoy it.  Good to be among so many folks, both old hands and new who share as you do.

I hope this works, my pic were to big to attach, so I tried to put them on picasa web, so lets see if I can put the link in as Steve explained on his video. By the way these were not the first things I made but it's pretty close was the 3rd and 4th I think.

This clock is one of the fist things I made in 1985.No pattern I just made a drawing and built it.It brings back a lot of memories. My first wife and I had just purchased our first home with a big fenced in back yard for our daughters (6 and 3 yrs old) to play in and a nice garage for my wood shop, I mean her car.It was in that garage some of my first projects where made. She loved this clock and let me hang it in the living room. God rest her soul she left us in 1986 in an automobile accident.
