Superman
« on: June 23, 2011, 11:19:28 am »
I made this project for my husband for fathers day. I cut the fretwork out of galvanized steel flashing. I found a pack of 10 5"x7" pieces for a couple bucks at Menards and have been waiting for a project to use it. I cut the steel using a wood steel wood sandwich and it cut really well.
I mounted the steel to a painted wood backer and to the other layers using epoxy.
The pattern I modified from a pumpkin carving stencil I found online.

There seems to be NO END to the ingenuity of our members!

Great Project! Katie!!!

I recently 'acquired' (don't ask how!) one of those big triangular "Yield" highway signs and can't wait to try cutting something from that aluminum!

THAT IS AWESOME, KATIE!!!    My son is a huge superman fan.  His whole office is Superman, his dog is named Clark (His wife couldn't say Callell (sp?).  I've got to give it a go.  Excellent piece.
