Newest projece to save face with the Mrs.
« on: June 17, 2011, 05:48:58 am »
i'M MAKING A BELATED BIRTHDAY GIFT FOR THE BOSS.
Oops sorry agout the yelling. Since she is quilting about 12 hours a day, and hangs out with a bunch of her other quilter buddies, I think she'll appreciate it , who knows some of them might want one too, can make enough to buy some good wood maybe. Quen Sabe?
It's One of Grampas designs and I converted it from a silouette to a line drawing to save on the bleep expensive ink bleep!!   ;D ;D I'm also hoping it will be a little easier to see what I'm doing.
I'll keep y'all posted. even if it bores you to tears. LOL Any typos are the result of taking my sleeping pill and then staying up doing this foolishness....
Gabby
Thanks Grampa!

Hey Gabby, How do you go about changing the original pattern to a line drawing?
I cut that pattern a while ago. I stack cut four layers of 1/8" Baltic birch plywood. Used red oak plywood for a backer and made the frames from Alder.
Good luck on yours!

I'm not sure how Gabby does his but the way I do mine Dan is put it in Paint and change wipe out all of the black with the paint can (white color choosen). As I said I don't know how Gabby does his but this way works for me and if there is white they may be erased when I do it I choose the grey On my printer it comes out white..

I grabbed a copy of that and will cut it from 1/4" BB and use a piece of fabric glued to the backer.

My 'Lady Friend' is a 'sewer' and she will love this!

I use Paint.NET and it works easy there is a pull down in "Effects" that will change it to a pencil drawing or a pen and ink drawing with just a couple of clicks. Beats erasing all the fill with a paint brush or eraser. I do use those for some photos or pictures from time to time. I like this program as most of its functions are straight forward and don't require hours of reading to use. I haven't used all of it's resources and it is capable to do more than I have taken the time to learn.

I started cutting it today and I have to be patient that oak is tough and slow going!

Slowcutter doesn't have a thing on me. about 7 hours total time including breaks every 15 minutes or so, damn leg gets to hurting too much.
Got the word "fabric's" and the part by the wheel cut. At this rate with honey do's thrown in maybe done in another month. LOL

Seems to me Gabby that with all the problems you have it may be a good idea to sell the saw, buy a Sewing Machine and start Quilting Lol Iggy.

Oh NO! Iggy,
The Boss is a master at that, at least she doesn't know anything about the saw and I'm not going to teach her either.
I saw what teaching her to shoot could do, damn fine instructor (me), and great student (her), can't hit crap with a long gun but a hand gun is a different story! Poor Darlin' is right handed and left eye dominant!
Like yours mine is a GOOD cook.  ;D

If she is such a good cook, why are you trying to shoot her??? may be, she wants to put some old tins on the fence and have you stand behind them while shooting at them.!!!
