Veggi Welcome
« on: June 04, 2011, 11:44:56 pm »
This is the project that I was working on today. Tomorrow I will give it to my cousin for a wedding shower present.
The veggies are modified from a pattern in one of the magizines. The origninals are garden stakes, I just cut the stake part off and mounted everything to a backer piece of wood.
This project took way more time to paint then to cut, but it was fun to do. all the pieces are 1/8" plywood.
I was planning on leaving it with out the frame as more of a stand alone plaque, but it looked a little unfinished so I made the frame from "Picture frame molding". I think it finishes the project well.

That is very nice Katie!
I was going to say it looked corny, but it doesn't have any corn in it!
Where do you get the picture frame molding?

Now that is a cool sign!  I saw those veggies too and they were really cute.  What a great idea to make them into a fun sign like this.  I am sure they are going to love it!  Have fun at the shower!

It looks really nice, Katie.  Well done.  It will be really appreciated by your friends.  Yes, it always takes longer to do the painting of scrollsaw pieces than it does to cut them.
