IT'S ALIFE!

:D ;D ;) My saw has been resurrected. Thanks for all the advice guys/gals. The switch was the problem, my nephew put a new one in about an hour ago and she hums happily again. Could not blow it out as the whole switch is encased in plastic and only the contacts stick out the back to connect the mains to it with clap thingies. But so what spending about 4 euro sounds much better than spending about 400 on a new saw, and I am quite fond of my Proxon.

OH, Happy Day!!!

Glad it was a minor thing!

Cover that thing up OR blow it out with air frequently!!!

Turn that saw on (after it is unplugged of course), and hook it up to a foot switch and tape over the switch and you won't have that problem in the future.  Glad you got it working.

fine - that's really fine!

Now check that switch, you can open at at the backside (where the contacts are).

a foot switch is the best investment to avoid any future switch problems.

I have a Dremel saw that has switch problems alot. I put a toggle switch on it and eliminated the factory switch. It is not as pretty but it works and it is alot cheaper than the original one.
