My first Intarsia
« on: May 08, 2011, 11:09:55 am »
I just completed my first Intarsia project (first of many...I hope!). It is a pattern designed by Kathy Wise. I would appreciate all constructive comments, good or bad! I now realize that I greatly need to improve on my cutting abilities before I can truly consider myself an Intarsianist. I am definitely not in the same league as many of the Intarsia Artist who present their work on this board, but I will continue to try and improve.

That turned out Gorgeous, wheter it was your first or not, definetly beautiful work. I'm sure the other Intarsianist will have a better eye and knowledge to give you advice, but I say you can call yourself an Intasianist now!
Great job, thanks for sharing!

I agree with CNLNC You did an excellent job on the Fox, whether it was your first or one of many Intarsia's.

Few people achieve these results on their first try. You can be very proud.

I would like to say thank-you to everyone for your comments. I can't say that my first Intarsia project was easy, but I definitely learned a lot. However, with people like Al (Intarsia92) to learn from it certainly made the entire process more enjoyable. I have tried to read all the posts and study all the different methods pertaining to Intarsia that are presented on this board. Al has been very helpful in providing information regarding equipment necessary and pattern methods. I have great respect for Al and hope to continue to learn from him and others for a long time to come.

Hi Louis, I don't know anything about intarsia but I do know a nice piece of work when I see it. And that is a very nice piece of work. Congrats on your first piece being so good.
