Wood Toxicity Chart
« on: April 27, 2010, 07:24:22 am »
Here is a chart showing the different species of wood and the reactions to exposure. You should use care when working with any wood. Many species can trigger allergic reactions when exposed to these woods.  Wood allergies can range from minor discomfort to life-threatening reactions. Therefore the need for Dust Collection and Protection.   :o

Thanks alot for the chart, Russ.
Two questions: is there an explanation somewhere of what exactly some of those reactions entail, and
I am wondering about pine and poplar-the two woods I use the most-not on the chart. Does anyone know any related issues with those two?

Joscrolls,

I might have a chart that explains a bit more.  In fact I found a web sit that may be of help.

http://www.connectedlines.com/wood/

Just click on the name of the wood and it should bring up their properties.

Janet, I do not wear a mask either, and your right, gonna die of something someday, so making saw dust would be the way to go, however I just hate sneezing all the time.  LOL ;D
