UPDATE:
I got some tubes ~8" dia / 20"long from the street construction site around the corner. They are renewing the water lines and are using big tubes (even 12" onces  :o ). I got some of the excess pieces.
Now I need to make some end caps and figure out how to mount them.

Beside of that I need to extend the electrics in my future wood shop. Didn't get to do much there, but the light alre already hanging at the ceiling - giving nearly shadow free light  :D

Torsten,  this is a picture of the tube sand I've used.  Essentially, it is just a long sandbag.  I think the flexibility of the entire thing may be a factor in it's ability to absorb vibration.
