simple & useful
« on: May 01, 2011, 08:24:04 pm »
made this clothes pin box for someone this weekend there wasn't much else to do. very simple to make most people make them using dove tail joints. i don't know how to do them so i just butt join them. not much scrolling involved just in the name. used 1/2 oak plywood to make them stained with Thompson water sealer seeing it's for the outdoors & 1/8 birch plywood for the name.

Nice box Newfie! I little warning though. Even though you used Thompson's Water Seal, Don't store it out doors as the plywoods you used are not waterproof and will delaminate in short order.

You know someone that still uses clothes pins for drying clothes????????????
LOL

Cool box. I suspect it may get used for something else. Way too nice to leave outside in the weather.

Very nice Newfie, my biggest nemesis with the scroll saw is cutting letters, so good job on the name. Maybe a couple coats of Spar Urethane spayed on may give it a lil longer outdoor life.

With the wet weather we are getting you may have to double up on the Thompsons water seal. Good job, I would do one for my wife but she only uses the drier. >:(
