Drilling Holes

Do you drill all of your holes at the same time? Or drill some, cut some, drill some, cut some.....?

I drill all my holes at the same time except of course the ones I miss!

Not that I have that much experience, but I drill them all first then do the cutting.

I also drill them all at the same time, Kate.  But it seems I sometimes miss a couple and have to go back.... grrrrr.

I tend to drill all the holes I can drill that are big, cut them out then drill the really fine ones.

I drill them all and then do the cutting, unless it  is a project that is really complex.  In that case, then I do things a section at a time, drilling one entire section and then cutting those out before proceeding.  That way it allows me to stretch and take a few minutes break and get away from the saw for a bit before proceeding.

I'm with Sheila on this one,on complex projects i do it in sections.

I drill them all at once, even on the complex ones, because I sand the back of the piece after I drill.  Then I cut from the center to the outside.

I like to drill all the holes first, but I get tired and have to sit down, so I start cutting

I?m new to cutting from paper patterns and some times get a little confused on what needs to be cut out (when I'm cutting) so I go over the whole pattern first and shade the cutouts.  Then I take the wood to the drill press and drill all the holes.  I use the special wood bits instead of a normal twist drill.  I don't know what they are called but they have a small point in the center and a small cutting spur at the outside of each flute.  Could they be called ?brad point??  Anyway I'm hope you know what I mean.
