I am a new scroller eager to learn.

Got the bug at the Durham Woodworking club.  My EX-21 arrived a week or so ago and have done some lettering plates and a train for the grandkids so far. 

My real interest is to be able to do portraits well by Christmas time,

There are a lot of great ideas out here, it's always an inspiration to check the pattern requests or the bragging. And there are so much situations around normal life, where one (well at least me...) thinks of some nice woodwork.
So it's not difficult at all to be drifting along.

Hi Don and welcome to the forum. I'm from Cornwall Ontario which is just a few hours east of you. I'm fairly new to this forum also. Just for the past week or so. I was very interested in your post as I see you just received an EX-21. Did you buy it in Canada and if so, where? In my neck of the woods I' can't seem to find where to buy one. The General Instrument dealers in Eastern Ontario don't seem to have any in stock as I sure would like to see it first and possibly try it before I buy. Anyway, welcome!!! Now I guess, I better post my intro.

I got my EX-21 from Federated in London Ontario.

They had a deal on for the Kitchener woodworking show.  I didn't go but just called and they gave me the 10% off.

I got the EX-21 with stand and foot control for 739 plus tax delivery included.

They are great guys to deal with.

Hi Don;

Thank you so much for the valuable information. I will give David a call sometime this week. I had contacted General International last week and they gave me a name in Ottawa called Ottawa Fasteners. GI also stated that Ottawa Fasteners normally carries this saw in stock. So I emailed them on the weekend with 7 questions. As of today I still don't have a reply. Too bad as I work only 10 minutes from where they are. I'll see what David can do for me if the Fasteners place don't email me back shortly. Does the saw meet your expectations?
