how does one start learning how to do intarsia this stuff is amazing can anyone help me in this area

A good place to start would be to visit:  Intarsia.net  There is a free pattern with complete instructions for making your first Intarsia.

That is where I started. I did the teddy bear plan and them moved on to some very simple patterns with only 5 to 10 pieces. The big thing is to let the saw do the work, don't push the wood into the saw. Visit Judy's site, she has great ideas.

What I've found is that it's like most things, confusing at first, then not so much.
My first was a free teddy bear pattern. About 20 pieces and took forever ( it seemed ) because I thought about every step 20 times before I cut a piece.
Still screwed it up but that process made the steps clear in my head.
After that it's just making sure you cut on your intended line.
Intarsia92 does great work and is very helpful.

There is a great article by Janette Square in the current issue (May 2011) of Creative Woodworks & Crafts. She discusses the tools, materials and techniques to get started in Intarsia. This article is well worth the price of the magazine!
