Hand Drawn Patterns
« on: April 24, 2010, 12:37:28 pm »
I have read several articles on making patterns using software but
I'm interested in learning how to draw some by hand using a photo as
a reference. Anyone have any ideas or links to help get me started ?
I'm not much of an artist but I like to doodle with a pencil.

I usually just turn the doodles I like into patterns..........put them on the computer and clean them up.  But you can get a small projector at craft stores and put your photo in it and it will project it onto a wall...........you can put your paper on the wall and trace whatever you want.  Just an idea.  My mom used to do this when she wanted to paint.  Mostly just practice your drawing and before you know it your skills will improve.  You can also google "free drawing lessons" and you can find many.  Just follow along and you'll learn alot.  There are videos even, to teach you.
