This concerns Steve's New Pattern Catalog....:+(
« on: February 21, 2011, 04:45:43 pm »
Well today I wanted one of Steves patterns for a new project.  Probably I am not doing something correctly, so I would appreaciate any input on HOW
     I found the pattern and clicked on PRINT.  The printer window came up and I chose the page number.  Clicked OK and up comes a window wanting me to SAVE the pattern.  Ok nothing happens, so I clicked on SAVE and nothing still does not happen.  No printing.  Cry.cry.  HELP....Danny  :+}

When you say you "found the pattern and clicked on print" is that after you downloaded the PDF file?

Yes Karl....  Like the OLD catalog all I did was click on the pattern picture and the picture of Steve and below him was the finished project and below that was the pattern.  I clicked on PRINT and my printer window popped up and I typed the page I wanted to print and away it went and the pattern printed.
     Now I choose the pattern picture and click on it and all seems the same as above except for this window that pops up wanting me to SAVE or Cancel.
I did click on SAVE, but no pattern ever printed.  Help

Danny what you may need to do is save the pattern to a file folder then go in and open the file go to tools click on it then go to select & zoom click on it then go to snapshot tool click that push and hold down the left mouse button scrool over the pattern then go to Paint,Gimp or another program as such and save it that way and then print it out I had to do that on many of them because I got the same thing you did not always but it does happen...

Good Luck to you

Gee Chachi not being very computer literate so to speak all that you told me to do is way above my head.  Whew!  Still spinning.  LOL
I was so used to Steve's old catalog.  So EASY Now when I clicked on the SAVE I don't know where it was saved to?  Not downloads or documents.
It does let me choose the page to print, but when I click on print a window pops up saying I didn't choose a page to print, so no printing.  Help?

    Danny. Mine use to do that. I think there is a box in your print set up that says save to file. Just click it off. That should take care of it. Dave 8)

Open your start menu. At the bottom you will see the search space ( blank space with the magnifying glass) Type in *.pdf and press Enter key. This should give you a list of all the pdf's on your computer and where they are. Now when save them you can see where it puts them. Most of the time it is better to save the pdf to your computer, go to them and open to print.  8)

Also as Dave said, if the Print To File box in the printer dialogue box (first box that opens when you click print) is checked it will not print but it will save it to your computer.  8)

It will work for any file extension. Pictures *.jpg,  Bitmaps *.bmp etc. You just need to know the extension.  8)
