Hi Judy don't know the proper english name, but it is transparent colored paper if I translate it directly from dutch it would be called kitepaper as it was used for building kites before the modern stuff came around like nylon etc. You get it in an aray of colors.

did you prepare the paper with "something" to make it stronger?

Hoi Marcel just used "Vliegerpapier" it has served me well in the past just don't try the "zijde papier" that tears before you even stick it on.
