Just a note to those who make bird houses, the door needs to be small enough so that only the bird it is designed for can fit through. We have lots of Acorn Woodpeckers here and they are great ones for using vacant houses to store acorns, then when they can't reach them through the small door they enlarge it to get in. I have used sheet metal to surround the door so that they can't do this, in addition, those that I have that are designed to open for cleaning, I leave open to discourage them from using them as a pantry. I used aluminum flashing because it is easy to cut with snips, top & bottom from tin cans work too.
Just goes to show you Gabby can run off at the mouth at the drop of a hat.
