Bowl I made
« on: February 09, 2011, 07:21:07 pm »
Here is one of the bowls I made from Carole's book on making Scrollsaw Bowls.  The square bowl is made from walnut and the round one is from white oak.  White oak is very tough to cut and hard to sand as well.

Those came out very nicely!

I made a couple of those bowls out of pine and the sanding about did me in.  I have no doubt the oak was a trial.  You did a beautiful job of it though.

Great work! The way the round corners flow is neat.
I love walnut!
Did you cut the bottom to fit inside or attach underneath hard for these weak eyes to tell.
Does the walnut cut fairly easy? It's been a long time since I've worked with it and that was on the lathe.

The bottom just fits underneath the layers.  Steve has a few patterns for bowls.  His a very simple to make.

Great job Chief!!
Carole is coming out with another book later this year on boxes. I saw a preview of a cupcake one and it looked so real I almost went into a diabetic coma just looking at it LOL.
