Howdy,

What software do some of you designers use to create designs like you'd see in Steve's magazine holder?

I'm designing a pattern that would wrap around a glass vase and candle holders, and I'm doing it by hand.  If some software does that without a huge learning curve, I'd like to look into it.

Thanks,

Bill

I use a "school version" of Corel draw 9
sometimes I try GIMP but learning new programs can take a lot of time.
the most important part for me is a accurate measuring tool in the program.
especially when there are more parts that have to fit together,

I didn't know Corel could draw a "curly" with various radiuses.

Not handily available until tomorrow, but using Steve's magazine holder as an example, there are designs that vary in radius.  Also, the parallel lines that follow any curve.  I can't seem to do those on the computer.  I'm thinking of buying the Corel Draw for Dummies or Corel Draw for Idiots, but I don't know if I'm a dummy or an idiot.
