I have so little room in my shop that I don't have space for a dedicated spindle sander. I use spindles in my drill press. I prefer the drums that use normal sandpaper rather than "tubes". They don't last as long, but are cheap and quick to change out. I recently ran across a delta drill press accessory which converts a drill press into an oscillating spindle sander and have been using it. It works pretty well. I got it at a local woodworking store for $50 (good deal).
