Creative Woodworks Index - Coming soon
« on: November 08, 2010, 06:16:23 pm »
According to the editor of CW&C, they are producing a comprehensive index of all their projects back to Feb 1996.
It will have search functions as well as COLOR photos!

This was announced in the new Jan 11 issue of CW&C and should be available in a few months.

This is good for those of us who have lots of back issues.

Somehow, I don't think I deserve the credit, but thank you for that anyway!

That's good news! I think I have every issue, so this will come in handy!

It's also a great idea for newcomers to the craft like myself.  It will be a great resource for seeing what back issues I might want to order.  Right now the only ways are either to just pick some randomly or read about an old pattern in the request or brag forums.  With this feature, I should be able to find projects I'd like to do and buy the appropriate back issues - assuming they are available.

I have subscribed to the magazine and I got my new issue today but I haven't read all the way through it.  My first thing is always to go through and look at the projects to see what might tickle my fancy.  Thanks for the heads up, Karl.

Got my issue today.  This is the first Issue I did not find a single project that struck my fancy.  I'll have to go back through it I guess and see if something jumps out at me.

Kind of like reading Playboy when I was younger; thumb through and look at the pictures before I go back and read the articles.

I'm sort of with Dunk on this issue; nothing that really catches my fancy, but Lisa likes the peanut dish.

I have also created this index over the years.  I've included issue, location of pattern and designer for the issues I own.  The other, less detailed, info is from someone on their user group.  If anyone wants a copy, let me know.

I suggested this very thing to "Scroll Saw Woodworking and Craft" about 3 years ago.
They said they had been considering it but hadn't done it yet.  Now their competition has beaten them to it.  You snooze...You lose!

There is an index and search function on SSWC.  It has been there for quite a while.  Its on the left side of the forum called "print article index".
