I worked the polls and was one of the first in my town, only 30 had voted by 2pm, in this town of just over 150 we consider that pretty good
I love the smell of saw dust in the morning.

I waited for the Mr. to get home from work.  We make it an event.  Vote, go out to dinner and watch the results.
I made it a big deal when my kids turned 18.  It is truely a rite of passage.  I noticed on my daughter-in-laws face book page that they did the same thing.  It makes me proud.

Yesterday I now the section of the 'alphabet' I worked I counted four 'parent/child' pairs who came in for the youngster's first time at the polls and they all were very interested in the process.

At the 'drop off point' where we turned in the ballots and materials I talked with one worker who said at her polling place when they had a first timer someone would shout 'New Voter' and the workers would all applaud and it went over very well and the people in line joined in the applause.

I don't know how the Elections Board will react to this but I thought it was neat. I stood and shook hands with each of the ones who came to my table.

Yep I voted yesterday.  I was amazed at how many placards for the different candidates were out in the parking lot.

GB they asked me about my son so as not to embarrass him. I said yes his first time. They yelled out new voter and all clapped. I was cracking jokes and one liners and had everyone in stitches. :) They had pizza coming so I tried to join their side of the table. ;D Told'em I help just to get the pizza! :) Didn't work and didn't get pizza.
