squaring the blade?
« on: October 24, 2010, 10:38:02 am »
My blade is square side to side but off just a bit front to back on my DeWalt 788.  Any suggestion?

Back to front will not be straight as most saws the blade doesn't travel up and down in a perfect line. The blade moves on somewhat of an arc. Most important is side to side. On very few saws can you adjust front to back movement.

I believe thats by design. Don't think its correctable or needs to be.

Well, it's because I use spiral blade. so when I cut sideways it is off but the only time I notice it, is when I am cutting a thick piece as in the stand up puzzles.

Hey Judy, There really is no adjustment for this. The only suggestion I have, and I know you don't want to hear this, but, try a flat blade!

OK, as soon as this show is over I will order some. Doesn't Mike have a sample pack?  I admit I had some once but never tried them and passed them on.

Hey Judy, Mike sells a puzzle blade, I have never used it. It is a flat blade, but it might help your dilemma.
