Christmas Tree II

Hope I haven't posted this before.  My memory isn't what it used to be.

This is one of my latest schwibbogen.  I call it ?Christmas Tree II?.  See the three pics; light placement and pasties, detail shot, and in a dim room with lights on.  It measures about 18? high and 12? wide.  Cut from 1/8? baltic birch with an  oak base. 

I designed this schwibbogen from an actual scwib produced by RATAGS Holzdesign in Germany.

How much space between the front and back or the two sides?
What did you use for the spacer and is there one at the top also?

Very Special... but I would never get it done for this year.
Would like to try a similar one over the winter (taking my time) for next year!
Maybe one for each of my three children's families...

The spacer at the bottom is 3/4 MDF and a few (3 I think) 3/4" long dowels.

Super Chase! Where do you get your lights from? I have made two now, but with no lighting as the special lighting is so expensive I would never make any money on it if I wanted to sell. Or could I just use ordinary xmas lighting?

GB I know that Sue Mey has several on her site, I also bought two books a while back from bol.com they are in german though and when searching you need to use schwibbogen.

This one was derived from an actual schwib we bought.  I guess that means I can't sell it.  Volker Arnold is another source besides Sue Mey.  Also both scrolling mags have schwib patterns from time to time.

Do a search on something like "white wire, 10 light, mini-light," etc.  There are  a lot of vendors, just have to search.

After C'mas they are on sale.  I buy 10 strings at a time.  Sometimes for less than $2 per string.
