Here is my first attempt at a thick natural edge cutting, 8" diam. and 1" thick Cypress

No Russ the wood is fairly soft, the next piece this thicker at 1 1/2" and cutting Ok as well

Really neat. I have a couple pieces of that type of wood, but have not found a pattern I have wanted to cut yet. You have inspired me to find something soon.

It shouldn't crack Judy was is fairly dry when I cut the log it has been in my pile for about 2 years

I have sliced lilac. It has very nice rings and coloring. But I was afraid to cut anythin for fear of cracking. Gonna give that a try. Thanks Jimbo
