That was sooo cool of Bob to send that to Steve!  Anyone know if Bob is on the forum?  If so, great job Bob!

I was hoping a thread would be started, so we could comment.  I have to say, that is awesome what Bob did, it's a beautiful piece of woodwork.  Steve does a lot for the scroll saw community, and what better way to say thanks.   ;D

I think we should contact the Smithsonian and ask them to reserve a place for that portrait for future generations!

Janet, any chance you could send me a copy too.  Somehow I missed it also.  - I was on vacation last week visiting grandchildren and was not on at all, so maybe that is when it got shown.  Thanks.  Dan

Yes.... Bob belongs to this forum.
I do hope he sees the praise. I know him personally. He and Steve have a lot in common. They both do a lot for other people. Both surprise me with all their ideas.
Bob's not just good at coming up with scroll saw projects tho..... he also rebuilt scroll saws and is forever having ideas about how to make jigs and things to make woodworking easier, more efficient.
When he comes up here for our annual scroll saw weekend he always surprises us with new projects,. This year he had boxes made on the scroll saw.... one looked like a .... hmmm. well.. scroll saw! lol Another looked like a mini band saw and there was a dog and a fish bowl. He also made a miniature chess game and some awesome collapsible bowls.... thinner rings then usual.... and you can bend them every which way to make sculptor looking things out of them! ( in case you missed it.... Steve posted the write up and photos of that weekend on his blog)

I always say to him : "I wish you lived next door! We could have sooooo much fun... we'd never get out of the woodshed!" lol   My poor husband would either have to learn to cook or we'd be having pizza forever! :)
