Variations on a horse pattern
« on: September 14, 2010, 09:41:43 pm »
Here is a pattern I've adapted a couple of ways:

Pattern:  Patrick Spielman & Dirk Boelman, Decorative & Ornamental Scroll Saw Patterns, p. 49 (modified)
Wood:  1.  Camphor Tree branch slab  Dimensions:  4 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 5/16"

             2.  Cherry    Dimensions:  5" round x 1/4"

             3.  Redwood     Dimensions:  approximately 2" x 1/4"

Finish:  Gloss

The photo on the next post shows 3 more of the Camphor Tree branch slabs I cut from a tree my Dad had cut some branches off of about 13 years ago.  I recently found them stored away.

I have a piece of camphor laurel and when I cut it on the bands saw it nearly knocked me over, haven't touched it since, nice job on the horses
