Eagle and flag

I saw this pattern and had to give it a try. Since I am brand new and my Dewalt 788 is brand new I thought I should start slow. I did a few names then I did the Japanese characters. They came out fine and I felt I was ready.

I don't like this frame. What color should I paint it to make the work stand out?

I like the cutting...very nice job!  As far as the frame goes...something dark.  Thanks for the post!

My first thought if you were going to paint the frame a color would be a dark Navy blue.  It would really compliment the wood color and make the design stand out.

The cutting on the project is terrific!  You did a wonderful job!  :)

Hey Ron, You did an excellent job on the eagle! Looks like an old pro did the cutting. As for the frame, if it is not finished, I would stain it a darker color like Mahogany or a dark Cherry.
Good job!

I also would use a dark color for the frame and if you are going to paint it, then I agree with the Navy blue.  Great work!

Good job on the cutting.  I agree, a dark stain or navy blue paint on the frame.

I had some black paint so I went with that. I will paint another frame Navy and see how it looks when I make the time. I will post a picture of that when I get it done.

I like the black frame better than the other one.  It looks great!

I think I would have gone with black myself. Let us know how it looks in navy blue. Nice job. Bobby

You did an excellent job. I like the black, but I think Navy blue would be nice also.
